The first important benefit of having a home gym is you save money in the long run, no gym membership fees to pay whether it‘s monthly or yearly, that can be a £300+ saving in its self. Then depending on the distances travelled to get to the gym you can save on fuel, which can be quite a lot if your having to detour to get to the gym after work then home.
Other home gym benefits are less distractions, no waiting for the use of equipment or people waiting for you to finish, which can be off putting, equipment is set to your liking e.g. seating positions and favourite workout settings.
At a commercial gym you may feel held back for fear of looking a bit weird or self conscious trying new workout routines but at home there’s nobody to watch you.
Home gym exercise can be done more often and at any time you choose, doing lots of small concentrated workouts on different body parts through the week rather than 2 or 3 heavy work outs.
Buying a good second hand multigym is probably the most sensible thing to do first because its less outlay to start with and if the novelty does wear off after a couple of months you wont have lost a great deal if you sell it to someone else.
Different new revolutionary workout programs can be fun and help you achieve your home gym goals, whether its weight loss, toning up or going for the defined cut look.
The internet is full of information on fitness, diets and workout routines usually consisting of videos to be watched and e-books that can be read, printed off and put on the wall right in front of you to refer too and follow while you’re training.
Although you’ll need room to set up a home gym this can be done with minimal space if you don’t have spare room in your home. Buying fold away equipment, a few free weights and a mat for floor exercises that could be easily stored away when not in use would provide the space saving home gym.
Ideally a garage or spare room with a multigym, free weights and exercise mat would be the perfect home gym set up but you can still achieve your fitness goals with minimum space and equipment if you put your mind to it. Now, thousands of people are working out at home every day, getting results that are mind-blowing and giving many more a reason to skip that trip to the commercial gym.
